Snow White Dinner & a Movie Night
Welcome back to my monthly movie night series! I love bringing the magic is Disney into our home, especially since we’re nowhere near the parks and I am always looking for a dose of Disney in my life.
This month, with the release of the live action movie coming, I decided to bring the classic Snow White to life during movie night! I’m so proud of this collection of recipes and cute cottage core decor to make this cozy movie night-in one to remember.
In here you’ll find the recipes for a full dinner, with dessert, and links to some similar decor that I think is perfect for Snow White. I used a lot of borrowed Polish pottery from my mother for this one, so I did a little hunting so you could have the same vibes.
Snow White Movie Night Dinner Menu
🥘 Snow White’s Beef Stew
🍞 Seven Dwarves Dinner Rolls
🍎 Evil Queen Crumble Baked Apples
All of the recipes included here are gluten free and can be made in about an hour - except the stew, which needs to be set ahead of time, but only takes 20 minutes to put together! Everything can also be made ahead of time and reheated for movie night.
Snow White’s Beef Stew
Remember the bubbling pot of soup she had over the fire for the dwarves after a long day in the mines? This is what I imagine she would have made for them! This stew is quick to put together, can be slow cooked all day, or cooked on high for the afternoon, but either way it’s hearty and nourishing no matter what your day brings!
Ingredients:
2 lbs. beef roast (can use round, brisket, etc.)
1 yellow onion, sliced (or two large shallots, sliced)
4 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 Tbsp tomato paste
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
24 oz. beef broth, can use stock or bone broth
2 tsp thyme, fresh chopped or dried
2 tsp rosemary, fresh chopped or dried
4-5 large carrots, peeled and sliced
4-5 medium yukon gold potatoes, washed and cubed
2 tbsp avocado oil
Details:
In a large skillet over medium to medium-high, heat avocado oil and brown beef roast. Do not overcrowd the pan! This might need to be done in 2-3 batches.
Once beef is browned, add into slow cooker or Instant Pot.
In the same skillet remaining over medium heat, add onion, garlic, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, half of the broth, and herbs.
Cook for 5-7 minutes or until slightly reduced and pour into your cooking vessel over the beef.
Add sliced carrots and cubed potatoes into the slow cooker/Instant Pot.
Pour in remaining broth.
Cover and set to cook for either 8 hours on low/slow cook, or 4 hours on high cooking setting.
Once stew has completed cooking cycle, it’s optional to add cornstarch and water mixed together in equal parts (i.e. 2 Tbsp cornstarch to 2 Tbsp water) into the broth to thicken.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Can be served immediately or stored for up to 5 days.
Seven Dwarves Dinner Rolls
In the scene from the 1937 movie where the dwarves are all sitting down for dinner, there are rolls on the table to accompany the soup that Snow White made. I had to find a gluten free way to bring bread to the table, and this semi-homemade dinner roll/biscuit was just what was called for.
Ingredients:
1 package of Pamela’s Gluten Free Biscuit Mix
1 egg
1 cup water or milk
2-3 Tbsp Italian seasoning mix
1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Details:
In a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients and mix completely.
Add mixture into a lined or greased muffin tin.
Bake as directed on package.
Serve immediately or refrigerate for 3-5 days.
Evil Queen’s Crumble Baked Apples
No poison here, but it wouldn’t be a true Snow White dinner without apples making an appearance. These were so simple to make, so delicious, and the leftovers made a wonderful breakfast the next day!
Ingredients:
4 medium/large apples, variety of choice (I used Sugar Bee apples)
1 cup quick oats
1/4 cup brown sugar
2-3 Tbsp hemp hearts
2 tsp. cinnamon, ground
1/4 cup butter, melted
Details:
Preheat oven to 350 deg F.
Cut apples in half, and scoop out the cores to create a well in each apple half for filling.
Place the apple halves in a greased, oven safe baking skillet or dish.
In a medium mixing bowl, add oats, brown sugar, hemp hearts, cinnamon, and butter. Mix together to create one cohesive mixture.
Scoop the oat mixture into each apple half.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove baking dish from the oven and remove the tin foil. Test the tenderness of the apples. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes uncovered until apples are soft.
Allow to cool before serving.
Optional to serve with ice cream or yogurt.
Snow White Dinner Decor
As I mentioned, I borrowed a lot of the beautiful pieces for this dinner spread, but I found some very similar items so you can bring this cottage core feel into yours as well!

I also found some pieces from this site as well - Polmedia Polish Pottery
You could also keep it simple and use a plain white dish set, or something with an intricate design along the edges. The colors that some to mind for Snow White are of course blue, red, and yellow, if you are looking for options that are a little more colorful and fun!
I hope you enjoy this movie night as much as I did, and that it brings a little magic into your everyday!
Make sure you tag me @magic.bymallory if you share your movie night! I’d love to see the magic you create.
