Tangled Dinner & a Movie Night
Welcome back to my monthly movie night series! I love bringing the magic is Disney into our home, especially since we’re nowhere near the parks and I am always looking for a dose of Disney in my life.
With spring coming into full swing, the movie I think of first is Tangled. This is by far one of my favorites right now, and something I watch and listen to all the time! Putting together a simple movie night in for this princess picture was so fun!

All of the recipes included here are gluten free and can be made in about an hour - except the garlic bread, which if making from scratch needs some extra time to prove. Everything can also be made ahead of time and reheated for movie night!
Cast Iron Herbed Chicken & Potatoes
I couldn’t make a Tangled themed dinner without using Rapunzel’s signature cast iron! This one pan meal is perfect for a quick to make movie night, is hearty, filling, and
Ingredients:
1-1.5 lbs. chicken breast
1 Tbsp oregano
2 tsp. rosemary, separated
2 tsp. thyme, separated
1 tsp paprika
3 cloves garlic, minced & separated
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 Tbsp avocado oil, separated
2 cups baby potatoes, halved
1 bunch asparagus, cut into 2 inch pieces
Salt & pepper to taste
Details:
Preheat the oven to 350 deg. F.
In a large mixing bowl, add chicken breast (cut each breast in half), oregano, 1 tsp rosemary, 1 tsp. thyme, paprika, and 2 cloves of garlic. Mix with a spatula until chicken is coated evenly in the herbs.
Heat avocado oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat.
Add chicken breast pieces into the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes each side, flipping once.
While chicken is cooking, in another large mixing bowl, add halved potatoes, asparagus pieces, 1 tsp. rosemary, 1 tsp. thyme, 1 clove garlic, and 1 Tbsp avocado oil. Mix with a spatula until evenly coated in herbs.
After the chicken is flipped and cooked on both sides, add potato and asparagus mixture into the cast iron pan, filling in the space between the chicken breast pieces.
Pour chicken broth into the pan over the potatoes.
Cover the skillet in tin foil and place in the oven to bake.
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Uncover and cook an additional 10-15 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken is 165 deg F. and potatoes are fork tender.
Add salt and pepper as needed to taste.
Serve immediately, or can be saved and reheated later.
Gluten Free Braided Garlic Bread
A braided bread felt like the perfect nod to Rapuzel’s golden locks. This one is a bit of a “choose your adventure” recipe (which also feels fitting as this movie is alllll about the adventure). You can either make this bread loaf from scratch or with a premade dough. Either way, this is a fun one to dress up with edible flowers to bring the theme further into the fold (pun totally intended).
Gluten free bread dough recipe - This recipe is a great gluten free option that gives the moldable, bread vibe you need for this.
Or if you get a premade dough (gluten free or non), that’s okay too!
Other Ingredients:
3-4 Tbsp butter, melted
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 Tbsp fresh or dried parsley
Details:
Garlic butter can be added to the bread prior to or after baking depending on your preference!
In a small mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic, and parsley. Stir together.
Using a brush, brush the butter mixture over the bread to coat evenly.
Once bread is baked, add edible flowers for decorations!
Slice and serve immediately, or save for later.
Gleam & Glow Sparkling Gin Cocktail
“Let your power shine” in this gorgeous gin drink that is giving all of the purple, pink, sparkly vibes that feels truly Tangled to me. This one can be adjusted for your taste preference for sweetness, but however you shake it - you’ll love the gentle glow this brings, both in the cup and in you!
Ingredients:
1 oz. Empress gin
1/2 oz. simple syrup (*optional if using a sweeter bubbly)
3 oz. prosecco
A lemon for juice
Gold edible glitter
Details:
In a shaker, add gin, simple syrup, a squeeze of lemon, and a few shakes of edible glitter.
Pour into a coup glass and top with prosecco.
Add edible flowers if desired.
I hope you enjoy this movie night as much as I did, and that it brings a little magic into your everyday!
