Chai Tea Latte Spice Mix with Latte Recipe

My original fave pick me up!

Before I drank coffee, I was all about chai! Okay, it was chai tea frapps at Starbucks, but still… It was my jam! Since those days of overly sugared drinks, I’ve moved away from the tea game for my caffeine jolt in the mornings, but I still love myself a good chai tea if I need an afternoon pick me up, or anytime the weather cools down — the warm spices of this classic flavor just give me allllll the cozy vibes.

A couple weeks ago I shared my Chai Spice Pumpkin Muffins, which was when I first started playing with this homemade mix. I wanted to come up with a way to make my lattes at home, keep the ingredients simple, and skip on the sugared up blends you can buy at the store or over in the drive through. And this is it! Welcome to the simplest spice blend to bring all of the warm weather, cozy flavor into your mug. Whether you' like your tea first thing in the afternoon, or like a latte on the weekend — you need this spice mix in your cabinet!

This chai spice mix is also packed with powerhouse nutritional benefits. Here are just a few from each of the five spices in this master mix:

CINNAMON || antioxidant rich, anti-inflammatory, reduces cholesterol levels, improves insulin sensitivity (1)

GINGER || antioxidant rich, anti-inflammatory, improves digestion, improves brain function, fights infections (2)

CLOVE || antioxidant rich, supports bone health, antibacterial, improves liver health (3)

CARDAMOM || anti-inflammatory, diuretic, improves digestive health, supports oral health, antimicrobial. (4)

NUTMEG || antioxidant rich, anti-inflammatory, may improve libido, antibacterial, improves mood, improves blood sugar control (5)

Long story short — if you’re looking for a health focused sip, this is it! Keep your body and mind healthy by adding this spice mix into your baked goods, morning oatmeal, and into your homemade chai lattes (recipe follows) any day of the week!
